Nassau Community College Presents “Hairspray”
March 14-17 & 20-24
Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the Broadway musical “Hairspray,” which will be performed at the Mainstage Theatre March 14-17 and 20-24.
Winner of eight Tony awards including Best Musical, “Hairspray” is a family-friendly romp filled with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It’s set in 1962 Baltimore, where Tracy Turnblad — a loveable plus-size teen — gets to dance on the Corny Collins television show. The former outcast uses her newfound popularity to make all her dreams come true, including landing the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and giving other members of the “out” crowd their chance to shine.
Performances of “Hairspray” are at 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $18.00 per person ($15.00 for seniors 55 or over). Free rush tickets are available for college students with valid I.D., except for Sunday performances. For more information, or to order tickets, call the Theatre Box Office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
