Nassau Community College Presents What is the U.S. Supreme Court Thinking and Why Does it Matter to You? with Dahlia Lithwick, Senior Editor and Legal Correspondent for Slate.com
Garden City, NY – This year NCC is proud to present the program “What is the U.S. Supreme Court Thinking and Why Does it Matter to You?” on Monday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Center Building (CCB). The event, which is free and open to the public, is being held in celebration of Constitution Day. It features Dahlia Lithwick, senior editor and legal correspondent for Slate.com.
Dahlia Lithwick writes the columns “Supreme Court Dispatches” and “Jurisprudence” for the online magazine Slate.com. She has covered the Microsoft trial, Bush v. Gore, the John Roberts and Sam Alito confirmations and other legal issues. Lithwick is a graduate of Stanford Law School who clerked for the Chief Judge of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Her print columns appear in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and The New Republic. A recipient of the On-Line News Association’s award for on-line reporting in 2001 and 2005, Lithwick was named in 2005 by readers of Legal Affairs magazine as “one of the 20 most influential legal thinkers in America.”
