"The Dangerous Delusions of Energy Independence" – Robert Bryce The Spring 2008 Cultural Program at Nassau Community College Presents, April 28
Garden City, NY
The Cultural Program at Nassau Community College is pleased to present The Dangerous Delusions of Energy Independence with author and editor Robert Bryce on Monday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the College Center Building.
Texan Robert Bryce has been writing about the energy business for nearly two decades. His articles have appeared in dozens of publications, ranging from The Atlantic Monthly to The Guardian to The American Conservative. Bryce's first book, Pipe Dreams: Greed, Ego and the Death of Enron, was named one of the best books of 2002 by Publishers Weekly. In 2004, he wrote Cronies: Oil, the Bushes, and the Rise of Texas, America's Superstate. His most recent book, Gusher of Lies: The Dangerous Delusions of "Energy Independence," was published this month. Bryce is currently managing editor of Energy Tribune, a contributing writer for the Texas Observer and a fellow at the Institute for Energy Research.
Bryce believes that anyone who argues that the United States will be more secure by going it alone on energy hasn't done his or her homework. The real question, in his mind, is "How are we going to deal with energy interdependence in our global economy?"
The Dangerous Delusions of Energy Independence is free, open to the public and accessible to the disabled. For more information about the presentation, please call 516.572.7153.
