Classics for Kids at Nassau Community College Presents "Aesop Bops!" David Gonzalez and the Yak-Yak Band, Sunday, January 6, 2008
Garden City, NY – Classics for Kids at Nassau Community College is proud to present the program Aesop Bops! with David Gonzalez and the Yak-Yak Band on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the College Center Building.
Fast-paced, funny and packed with audience participation, Aesop Bops! features a potpourri of classic fables, including “The Lion and the Mouse” and “The Fisherman and His Wife.” This feast of funky, physical storytelling leaves young audiences feeling like they just performed in the show too. Funny voices, witty songs and live music by the Yak-Yak Band come together for a delightful twist on Aesop’s centuries-old moral tales.
David Gonzalez is a storyteller, musician, poet, actor and therapist. He has created numerous productions, won awards and has had his work featured on Broadway, at the Smithsonian, and at Lincoln Center. He was host of New York Kids on WNYC for eight seasons. After receiving his doctorate in Music Therapy from New York University’s School of Education, Gonzalez taught at NYU for ten years. He also worked as a music therapist for 20 years in clinical and educational institutions throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Tickets for Aesop Bops! cost $1.50 per person. The event is open to the public and accessible to the disabled. For more information about this or any other Classics for Kids program at NCC, call 516.572.7153.
