The Nassau Community College Departments of Theatre and Dance and African American Studies Presents "An Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends" January 25 – 27 & January 30 – February 3
Garden City, NY The Theatre and Dance Department and the African American Studies Department at Nassau Community College proudly present the play An Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends directed by Bruce Edwin Jenkins. The play will be performed January 25 through January 27 and January 30 through February 3, 2008.Legendary poet Langston Hughes' work has been called 'the music of the Harlem Renaissance.' His poetry penetrated the souls of many African Americans and told stories of pain, love, misery and hope that served as the textual backdrop of this era in black history. An Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends brings this body of work to life in an evening of poetry, music and song.
Tickets for performances of An Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends cost $9.00. Senior tickets (55 and over) are $7.00, as are those for NCC alumni or groups of ten or more. Children 12 and under may attend a performance for $5.00. Tickets for those currently attending college or high school are free with valid ID.
