Nassau Community College Presents "The Voysey Inheritance": A Play Adapted by David Mamet
Oct. 29-November 1 & November 4-November 8
Garden City, NY The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present The Voysey Inheritance, a play by Harley Granville-Barker, adapted by David Mamet. The Voysey Inheritance will be performed Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 1 and Wednesday, November 4 through Sunday, November 8.
For generations, the Voysey family has been cheating its clients. Edward, a junior partner who plans to take over the company from his aging father, is horrified when he discovers the embezzlement that has been keeping his relatives in the lap of luxury. But nobody wants Edward to dismantle the firm's criminal legacy Ñ not his associates, not the woman he loves and certainly not his large, pampered family. As the risk of exposure looms larger, Edward comes to fully understand the consequences of his “inheritance.” The Voysey Inheritance is a witty portrait of a family in the midst of a surprisingly modern moral dilemma.
Tickets for The Voysey Inheritance cost $9.00 for adults and $7.00 for seniors 55 and over. Rush tickets (tickets sold at the door for that day's performance) are free for high school and college students with a current ID. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call the Theatre box office at 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
