The Adult Resource Center meets the special needs of adult students. For the purpose of identification, adult students are defined as those 25 years of age and older. We also serve younger students who have children. Our mission is to help adult students enter the college and to succeed. We assist in the scheduling of courses so that adults can work and meet the needs of their children.
Information concerning admissions, registration , high school equivalency diploma, transfer evaluation, the Fresh Start Program and credit through examination and/or life experience, can be obtained through this office. Counseling is available for personal, academic, educational and occupational concerns. Close liaison with other college offices insures easy access to other services.
While the Center sponsors various programs for adults, such as an adult orientation program, it also works closely with adult organizations, the Women’s Center and outside agencies. The Center is located in Nassau Hall (Building M) room 16 and can be reached at (516) 572-7103.
